“Oh! What a turn of events!” Said a young Baruch squire upon reading the missive

Markus frowned as he wondered if the alliance of pagans with the dwarves, the Norlanders, the elves, or any such non-Canonist entity would incur condemnation from this Pontiff. "Since when are Mercenaries and their wars a religious matter?" He shakes his head with worry. "Shall Canondom be so eagerly split over such trivial matters? Shall we excommunicate Balian for their elvish allies, or Haense for their dwarvish? Such would be absurd! What's cousin thinking..." He lets out a long sigh and seeks to consult his wife, who was wiser in these matters than the increasingly stubborn veteran duke.

Adrian who had been reading the missive, somehow, someway, heard his cousin who was in the middle of the continent one that had gone missing in recent time, then responding, "Markus! Where have you been?! I guess sucking the toes of the ferrymen is a full time job. I hope to see you again if you hear this."

The husband of the captured heir, Prince Ezren Elijah would write a letter to Pontiff Sixtus VI( @Sander ) reading as follows:

”It is with great joy I may write that her Highness Princess Sybil has been returned to us mostly unharmed physically, and the child was delivered safely and in good humors.

These terrorists should be ashamed for coercing a heavily pregnant woman to bend to their demands at the threat of the death of other captives and her unborn child. It is by the grace of GOD that my dear wife is a woman of strong fortitude in the face of adversity.

My wife and I wish to invite you to tea to meet the baby, and discuss the events that occurred directly with her highness. May GOD guide us all in these troubling times, and may he bring light to those who had become lost.
Signed, Prince Ezren Elijah of Tuvia

A bronzen icon is left by Odoacer in the Temple of the Exalted outside Whitespire. It is labelled Venerated Cunimund hal'Cingedoz with a note reading 'You know for what reasons he deserves some recognition come the next Golden Bull. Cherish thy library and all of its work transcribed mostly by his hand.'.

On her holy pilgrimage, Queen Amaya receives a copy of the Golden Bull from her most loyal messenger bird.

”Godani bless the Pontiff,” she murmured. “We shall rally at his call.”

“A Pontiff serving the will of Haense by unduly stepping into secular affairs. Shocker.” Grumbled Count Waclaw Jazlowiecki.

"Perhaps if Veletz hadn't lied to the previous Pontiff when they claimed the Ferrymen did not reside in their land, it would not have come to this. The Ferrymen abducted the pregnant princess of Balian, to do GOD knows what with, to cause harm to an unborn child is one of the most ergregious sins - the Pontiff did not 'step into secular affairs', he rallied a force to rescue a pregnant woman being held hostage in the lands of Veletz. Veletz continously lied to leaders of the Canonist League and the previous Pontiff in claiming the Ferrymen did not reside within their land, they have been shown to be proven liars, who can trust their word now? Let us also not forget the Stassion and Veletz soldiers sneaking into Breakwater via a rear bridge to join in the nefarious activities with the pregnant woman.

"There was a man once, entering the court of your liege, extending a gift with a jest - Yet it was not graciously accepted. And as a thanks, your liege cut his face in half with his sword. Is it truly your place to judge on sin and nefarious acts when your own monarch had been subjected to manslaughter which could have started yet another conflict if it was not for the well-communicated decision made by the Heartlander Accord to instead not go to war?

The attack may not have been justified, certainly, but reflect on the deeds of your own people and liege before so recklessly putting judgement forth. To name people liars is a defensive mechanism within communication which might indicate that you all have more to hide than what you actually say. Idem dito, for your liege.

I know this might be rather hard to swallow, but perhaps you just had what was coming to you."

"Numerous leaders of Veletz told the previous Pontiff and all of the leaders of the Canonist League, that the Ferrymen, categorically, did not reside within their land. It has been proven that they do, even further, they sent a man from Veletz to tell us they were holding the princess hostage there." replied Andrik.

Cardinal Artorus contemplated a long while as he procrastinated packing for his pilgrimage.

”We will get de magic investigation through curia one day hermano Armand. Big trust,” he said a silent prayer for the newly venerated and his former colleague before he set out to spread the good word one paso at a time across the dry kindling of Braevos. Only we can prevent forest fires. 🔥

"Sh*t, these higher-ups have one thing in common. . . Thinking we give a damn." The recently disowned Princess snickered. "What do they expect? Oooh, I'm so sorry! Oh no, my reputation!" She cackles, nearly rolling off the couch on which she lounged. "Pathetic. . ."

"Praise the machine-god. All that remains is a turn of the cog, and the gear-engine shall ignite. The weapon shall enblazen. The traitor and the heretech, they shall come to light. The fire of the sword of the OWYNSSIAH shines upon all. None shall hide from the light of GOD most high. Purge the unclean. Amen."
