Hey Guys!

It's about that time :)

I'll give you a little bit of a bio and background before we dive into the questions!

My LotC Adventures

I've been on LoTC since Day 1 of Athera, pretty much. I remember submitting my application during the map transition, and logging on into Athera to explore as a super edgy 14 year old. My first character? Aria Nightstalker - High Elf, one eye, ranger.

I quickly became friends with Jaeden/Murlocs, and from there Aria became the Windswept Druid due to the nexus plugin we had at the time which included 'windswept branches' that you could turn into a 'windswept staff'. In Atlas, I dived into voidal magics with her, then Thallassian magic, and finally killed her off at the end of that map.

I've played lots of characters since then - from a Paladin that lasted mid-Axios up until Xan's death (No official PK, but it's likely), a fair number of Druids (Windswept, Luminescent, Phoenix, and now Sun), and a Shapeshifting Demon who is now nothing more than a little Mage. I have explored many communities, primarily the humans and Elves, and have ventured into many different avenues of RP - even became a little PVP goon for a time.

I helped develop the Wood Elven culture into what it has become - I was present before the Seeds fully existed, and helped write a number of the original ones. I also helped write a number of the original Mani rituals - the Bear, Squid, and Wolf/Boar also I think? It's been genuinely amazing to watch something explode in the way welven culture has.. But also incredibly bittersweet to see all of those original players gradually disappear over time, with only a handful of us left. I won't lie, it sort of feels like I'm losing my place in such a community, with a fondness for the older Aspectist Faith rather than what it is now developing towards in the hands of the younger players (not a bad thing, of course).

I spent time as a Media/Content CT under Muffins' reign, and more recently returned to the full position of CT with Hogo - quickly becoming a Trainer and taking on more duties to help get things moving again such as the map arts & some fixes around spawn / tutorial island, as well as the New Player Guides that I believe @Smol is carrying on with, blessed be!

Amayonnaise, the Person?

As many of you know, I am one of those rare Aussies on this server, and in exactly one month I will be turning 25. God help me.

I don't play on LotC as much as I used to, especially since moving back across Australia to be with my family. In the last few months I've even transitioned out of the Hospitality industry and into a proper full-time job, which has majorly cut down on my free time.. Which means I don't really know when I might play again, if at all.

There are a number of players still around from when I was younger, but many more that have moved on from this Server and have their own careers and families, and honestly it sort of feels like I'm reaching that stage myself. I love roleplaying, creating stories, and developing my characters through their experiences and adventures, but I have been wanting to take my characters off-server and do some world building of my own. I don't know if I'll ever post stories or comics, but I have some ideas floating about.

I have made a lot of friends through this server - even people I have met in real life, and who I keep in touch with outside of LotC. I'll stick around on some Discords and keep in touch of course. I may even pop in from time to time to say hi and do some little exploring. But outside of that, I think my time on LotC is gradually reaching its conclusion.

So gimme your questions!

Spoiler

A little side note

There are a large number of people I genuinely have grown to adore during my time on this server - I likely won't catch all of you in this mass-ping here, but you've all made my time on LotC memorable, and helped me grow into the person I am today.

You're all wonderful

Favourite RP moment?

Fave OOC memory?

Fave storyline, of your character or otherwise, that you’d turn into a book?

And finally what’s it like playing multiple characters in the same niche like druids? Do you have a certain aesthetic you like to play or did you try to keep them different?

The number of Australians grows smaller. We didn't interact much but it's sad to see you go. I hope that things go well for you and your family!

RP Moment -
This is a tough one. There have been many emotional conversations between characters, story arcs, etc. I couldn't pick a single moment, but rather the story of Eleaina and Bottle (mine + hurfer's humans) - before my character got involved in demon stuff. They were just two goofy humans running around causing chaos, wholesome and fun rp.

OOC Memory -

Again, probably another period of time as well. I thoroughly enjoyed getting involved with the high elves a little bit ago, when Budgie and Samler were in charge. Aside from that, it would probably be my RP stint on my human noble Guinevera - Fie and Fishy's kiddo!

Storyline -

My Sun Druid, Avyndriel, probably has the most emotional storyline so far. But my Mage, Noruiwyn, has had a super wacky ride - from human to shapeshifting demon to mage etc., it's been hectic. Lots of potential with her >:) (May already have some ideas down for a casual comic one day)

Playing Multiple Characters -

I do try and keep my characters different, and I play them according to their experiences, letting their personalities develop in response to what they go through. I also like to give my characters different clothing styles & aesthetics, to better express their personalities and differences.

It certainly can be difficult playing multiple characters in the same communities - I try to avoid it, or at least have my character be vastly different. I also prefer to only have one character active per magic - as in, one druid at a time etc. I typically tried to keep my activity to only two characters in general, otherwise things very quickly got out of hand with trying to RP with different people at once, especially with my timezone

opinions on our recent olympic endeavor into the breakdancing world ?

I refused to watch the video until I was forced to.. I honestly don't really watch the olympics, but I think it was a pretty sour thing for her to do - taking that opportunity away from someone else while fully acknowledging that she didn't take it seriously (from what I've read/heard).

You were always a wildcard, Crevel. But I appreciated you a lot more after finding out you were Aussie. I'll miss ya bud, stay controversial <3

Gonna miss you, chief… Remember meeting you on our izkuthii, and then then reuniting on Aevos. Probably one of my fondest memories.

What’s your advice to remaining lotc players about how to keep engaging in rp for so long? What’s the secret to maintaining a good storyline?

Why didn't you just text me on snapchat, man?

Samler @'d me in a discord so I'd see this. God bless ye for sticking it out so long. Even I only hop on once in a blue moon for about twenty minutes at a time now. Damned be the water cannon lizard.

I'm sure people gonna miss the Amayo.

Here is some pieces you did because of memes and rp, don't forget them.

I do miss our Izkuthii shennanigans..

Honestly, my activity was always months on - months off. I'd get a craving for roleplay, return gradually, get hooked by some goal or plan that I'd want to fulfill, and then gradually stop playing. I had a very bad habit of taking on too many roles or tasks, and then burning myself out as a result, so my advice would be to try and be realistic about what you can and can't achieve - especially when it comes to community leadership!

For maintaining a good storyline, I preferred to challenge myself to see things the way my characters would, based on their experiences. Sometimes I wasn't even fond of the choices they'd make, but those choices were true to the character, and it would always result in interesting consequences.

Most of all, be mindful of your fellow roleplayers. Yes, we all want to see our characters rise and fall, and grow and change, but it can also be just as fun to have an effect on someone else's storyline. Ensure that the roleplay you're generating will have an interesting place in someone else's story. Our characters are as much of a main character on LotC as we are IRL - a single cog in a moving machine.
