garentoft 8358 Popular Post Share Posted June 4, 2023 Spoiler The Heart of the Kingdom The Lost Library of Heliviiryn was starting to seem impossibly small. Every time he picked a book off the shelf to read, it was as if he had already read it twice before. The incomprehensible language of whoever or whatever it was that had built this library still fell on eyes blind to it. Surely, he thought to himself, anyone of a weaker mind would have been driven mad trying to read this ancient gibberish. He was unsure how long he had been there, telling time while stuck in a cave is, after all, incredibly difficult. However, he had taken the time to assume how much time had passed by making scratches into a wooden panel, based merely on whenever he felt that one had passed. Three score and nine dozen he had made it to. Most of the days had ended up blending together, they were all so similar anyhow: reading in the company of the shadows, occasionally being visited by the amalgamation. Indeed, the only one that differentiated from the rest was the first. At first, all of the Descentantkind had made their ways into the ruins together, explored and made small settlements for themselves. He had been busy turning every stone in the Lost Library, trying to uncover whatever secrets (or treasures) that may have been there. There were some visitors, occasionally, but after what he assumed must’ve been only a couple of days, they stopped showing up. Few times did he leave the Lost Library since then, but every time since the population in Heliviiryn had been scarce, and he started to fear the worst. There was only him left. Clearly, some wretched beast or monster roamed in these lands, and it had managed to make almost all of Descendantkind disappear within a week. The amalgamation had confirmed so to him, telling him of how the monster had ripped apart Alyona. He had been unable to read any of the books for a week or two after then, instead he had simply wept and mourned, not only for the deaths of all those he held dear, but for the end of humanity and descendantkind altogether. And so he had stayed in the Lost Library until now, but something had felt odd about today when he had awoken. The caverns felt strangely fresh. The amalgamation seeped through the floorboards, assembling itself into a pile of ever-shifting faces, Renate, the Cometborn, Sebastian, Anatoliy, Walton, Baldrum, father, Esfir. All people that had passed, and all people that he had mourned. How they had turned into this being, he did not know, nor did he dare question such. In warped phrases did the amalgamation speak. Wkhuh lv d qhz zruog. Lw lv iuhvk, dqg ixoo ri olih. Lw lv qrw iru wkh olnhv ri brx. Brx gr qrw ghvhuyh lw. Brx duh zlwkrxw klp. Brx fdqqrw eh zkroh zlwkrxw klp. Jlyh xs. Jlyh lq. Glh. He took three steps back, and then he understood. Nodding his head, he acquired one of the books from the Lost Library, as a testament to the fascinating ruin that he would soon leave behind. He marched through all of Heliviiryn until he found it, the wide, gaping door into a world above. Somewhere new, somewhere to rebuild. At this moment, he imagined him by his side. Throughout the vast lands of Aevos (though, believing himself to be the first man there did choose to call it Georgia) did he travel by his lonesome, until he arrived into the very heartlands of the continent, whereupon he found a congregation of rivers, inside it were a collection of rivers. There, he knew, would be the perfect home for his people. A city which could become the beating heart of the continent itself. As he looked onto this landscape, the rivers coursing wildly through the woodlands, with large ebon trees striking into the skies, he glanced over to his side. “This was supposed to be ours to build,” he spoke gently to him, “Instead, it shall be built in your memory.” And so were the first stones laid for the new home of the Haeseni: Valdev, the Heart of the Kingdom. kaylacita 1089 Share Posted June 4, 2023 The Duchess of Valwyck, eldest daughter of Valdemar Baruch, gazed out of her lodging's window. The morning sun had finally peeked through the curtains, and the tavern on the floor below slowly filled. With it, the conversation she vaguely overheard grew; though one stood out to her in particular. "Have you heard?" A muffled voice exclaimed. "The capital has been named, Valdev!" She grimaced, her face twisted in anger. "Valde... Valdev?" The thud of her footsteps echoed against the wooden floor as she began to pace. Her mind was in turmoil. How could her King be so brazen with his affections? How had she been so blind in youth? The room was suffocating, thick with the unspoken truths and deliberate misstatements she was raised with. Through her window, Roslin overlooked the castle. Her knuckles faded to a shade of white as they grasped tightly onto the sill. "I cannot avoid this conversation any longer."
sarahbarah 5123 Share Posted June 4, 2023 A cool gust of air swept over Amaya's shoulders as she stepped foot into the city of Valdev - the city she would now call home... She smiled, inhaling the scent of river and pine. Home.

crazedpudding 2222 Share Posted June 4, 2023 Josefina Barclay is yet again drowned in paperwork, though a soft smile crosses her face as she gazes about the new city before taking her hammer and nails to set signage upon the buildings.
tadabug2000 3614 Share Posted June 4, 2023 The heavily pregnant Queen Sofia stepped foot within their new capital, the city of Valdev. She took in each sight, the high peaks of the basilica and the sweet scented gardens of the palace and felt tears well. A new home. At last.
DahStalker 2881 Share Posted June 4, 2023 Elia Eryka at the request of her kin and monarchy cornered herself away with quill and scroll, eyes pinned unto an array of blueprints below. With a soft inhale she came to a pause at the discovery of old etchings by the late Duchess Johanna Barlcay - unfinished concepts, but concepts none the less. And it was with that she got to work, mixing old with her new; her own and Johannas; designing what would be the grand Castle of Valdev.
ibiou 1727 Share Posted June 4, 2023 Windswept from the breeze of the salty seas was Alyona's hair still, stepping foot off of the boat she had housed in for two years, her handmaid lugging her bags. The Lady Emissary had a lot on her plate these forthcoming months, from diplomatic affairs to settling her House, yet reassuringly did she tell herself that it'll all be worth it. Valdev; the Heart of the Kingdom. Was it also the tree that bore fruitful, new beginnings? She certainly hoped so.
spicii 1114 Share Posted June 4, 2023 Franziska Baruch scoffed as she heard the news of the capital name, peering outwardly through her perked brow. Years and years of speculation had brewed within her mind, but this striked as a confirmation. Verification. Had her husband ever truly loved her, or had he loved another? Another man, at that. Pivoting upon a heel, Franziska made haste to find Georg. @gusano
