  2. DIRTY MIKE DEAD “Rejoice, people of Helena, the bandit known as Dirty Mike was killed in a one on four duel by Owen Istaf, who felled three other reivers alongside him.” A rotting head with a blue bandana stained in red would be firmly placed onto a pike outside the entrance of Fort Loches The remaining headless corpse could be found quartered in a hounds pen outside of Helena with ravaging bite marks. 3. The newest appointed Dragon Knight would finish a prayer, he knew the story and peers of The Bloodraven, and he knew his legacy would live on throughout the years.
  4. A Dragon Knight would cackle from atop his mighty steed as he watched the Orenian force retreat, fort after fort, from Leuven to Reza – “That was quite easy, wasn’t it Hannibal?” – Ser Rodrik would conclude as he dismounted from his horse.
  5. 15th of The Sun’s Smile, 1717 To admit one’s flaws is the first of many steps towards maturity. No one man is responsible for the prosperity and good fortune of the overall community. It is a communal effort, born of camaraderie and mutual respect. These are trying times, and as the war progresses, it becomes more important than ever that we prepare the youth of today for the harsh reality of tomorrow. One such youth, Adrian Henry IV Horen-Rothesay, Count of Salus and Lord of Rimter, recognized the need for such instruction and promptly sought out someone suitable to provide the insight required. The young man presented himself to Ser Rodrik “The Bloody” Kortrevich with a simple request. Ser Rodrik would provide guidance to the young man and serve as Lord Regent of his lands and titles until the boy came of age. In addition, the boy was to serve as the Dragon Knight’s squire and grow into a strong and capable warrior, able to defend the lands he called home. He would enjoy the benefits of the Dragon Knight’s estate and lands. With the unpredictable nature of war, it is even more important now to cultivate the talent and potential of the leaders of tomorrow. Grand expectations await the young squire, should he prove brave enough to meet them. Signed, Ser Rodrik Kortrevich Baron of Koravia Dragon Knight of Renatus Hero of Renatus Captain of the Imperial Legion Adrian Henry IV Horen-Rothesay Count of Salus Lord of Rimter
  6. “I look forward to our next battle.” – said a Dragon Knight as he sharpened his collection of blades
  7. @Quinn275 9th of The Grand Harvest, 1717 The harsh sun beat down on the bodies of the Renatian soldiers, The troops had been led into the treacherous Haenseti lands, ordered on a patrol by the trio of commanders. The leadership for this raid included no less than two Renatian Knights, Ser Rodrik of the Imperial Order of the Red Dragon and Ser Gregor Thorne of the Pertinax Order. In addition, the nobleman Phillip Vimmark played an integral role in the command of the patrol. Whilst the main retinue held at the crossroads, Ser Rodrik approached ramparts of Haense, issuing a challenge to the Haenseti guards stationed nearby. Few accepted this challenge, but amongst those who did, none proved capable of defeating Ser Rodrik. Whilst this distraction took place, a valiant elf known as Maly’thill investigated the so-called “impregnable” walls of the city. Eventually, his search proved fruitful, and he discovered a fatal gap in the Haenseti defenses. Maly’thill returned to the retinue with news of this entryway and plans were swiftly made to enter into the city through this route. Imperial troops flooded into the city, scouring the streets for any signs of the knights they had previously spotted on the walls. And yet they found the city a veritable ghost town. Perhaps the faith in their walls had led to the city guards becoming lax and unprepared. It would prove to be their downfall. With the city defenseless, the troops of the Imperium swept through without opposition, eventually coming across a group of soldiers training. These soldiers were being instructed by none other than the traitor Otto Kortrevich, alongside Ser Rodrik’s wife observing the training. Although sloppy and unprepared, the soldiers did not surrender their arms upon being presented with a superior force. Instead, they were cut down by the Pertinaxi war machine, like so many before them. Otto was bested in combat by Ser Rodrik and Sarah Kortrevich was successfully captured. The prisoners were soon bound and escorted towards Renatus, with Otto being forced to open his own gates, to prevent the method of entry from becoming known to the Haenseti. The patrol leads the prisoners off the beaten path, to avoid any rescue attempts from the traitorous forces that no doubt lurked amidst the roads. Upon reaching Helena, the prisoners were escorted to the prisons, where Sarah was shown that her children had remained safe under the care of Ser Gregor Thorne. Lilliana Kortrevich was allowed to hand the children off to Sarah, with an offer being extended by Ser Gregor. She would join Lilliana and swear fealty to Godfrey III, of House Horen. She was allowed to consider this offer for a while, as Ser Rodrik dealt with the decrepit marshal of Haense. A similar offer was presented to Otto, but he spat at the generous hands that offered him his life. As such, Ser Rodrik requested that Ser Gregor retrieve the ancestral sword of the Kortrevich family “Kortrevich’s Vow”, the same sword that the two had retrieved on a previous raid a saint’s week prior. With a smile on his face, Ser Gregor hastily carried out his task. He placed it into the hands of Ser Rodrik, as the men escorted Otto outside- in front of the guillotine. The guillotine itself, although a known staple of executions in Helena, and a crowd favorite, was not suited to the task at hand. Instead, Ser Otto was to die by his family’s ancestral weapon. Ser Rodrik, ever the merciful, offered Otto one last chance at redemption, and a place alongside him. He once more spat upon the mercy being offered to him. He was swiftly dispatched thereafter. Afterwards, the knights Ser Rodrik and Ser Gregor returned to the cells, finding Sarah weeping. Still unsure on the offer, she was taken by Ser Rodrik and Ser Gregor, and shown the manor they lived in and the life she could have with her children in Helena. She accepted the deal she was offered, glad for an opportunity to be reunited with her family. Or so it seemed. However, it seemed the corruption of the Marnans had seeped too deep into her. She changed her mind, rejecting the offer. Ser Rodrik sighed and had his children escorted back to Lilliana’s care, as the men escorted Sarah out of the city. Upon reaching the gate, the mountainous form of Ser Gregor loomed over her. “Traitors,” he muttered under his breath reaching out towards her. She was promptly strangled to death, an example to all, what fate awaits those who turn their backs on the Empire they swore allegiance to. Signed, Ser Rodrik Kortrevich, “The Bloody” Dragon Knight of Renatus Baron of Koravia Hero of Renatus
  8. “Good, they were super annoying.” – a Dragon Knight would say.
  9. “Wonderful indeed, Lilliana, Cassius – get ready we’re attending my friend’s wedding.” - said Rodrik to his siblings as he peered through the window, a smirk adorning the Knight’s visage as he continued to read more missives over the fire.
  10. “Now they make traditions?” - Rodrik would say as he chuckled from his new manor in Helena “Look at them Lilliana, seems family is making up for their mistakes already” The Lord of House Kortrevich then turns to his twin “Perhaps we’ll pay them a visit soon Cassius, very soon...”

  15. 3rd of The Amber Cold, 1716 To my cousin, Otto, You are unfit for the titles you hold. You are decrepit, infertile and continuously degrade the Haensetian military with your ‘leadership.’ The aforementioned military has lost nearly every battle they’ve been in under your instruction, and morale continues to fall. You have neglected our people and ignored their requests for assistance. Meanwhile, I have saved Haense and rose to the occasion numerous times; to make up for your incompetence. To make matters worse, you continuously fail to provide a guiding hand when your forces need it most. Thusly, I declare myself Baron of Koravia; for I have demonstrated that I am much better suited to the position. With my first decision as baron, I swear fealty to Godfrey III, of House Horen, in perpetuity. Under my command resides most of our men, all of which follow suit in this oath of fealty and will rise to His Imperial Majesty Godfrey III, of House Horen’s command. I have the support of the majority of the noble houses currently residing in Renatus. As you very well know, I am a capable warrior and a much better leader to these men than you could ever be. To my family, I offer an olive branch to those amongst you all in good faith. I, Rodrik Kortrevich, offer each of you a chance to join the eventual victors. Join me in Renatus to quash the rebellion as a family -- as we have always been. I wish not to harm any of my own flesh and blood. Accept my offer, and be safe from the dragon’s breath. Else, fall victim to it as many already have. To my wife, Sarah, I wish to ensure the safety of our children. The day they disappeared, myself, and Ser Gregor Thorne walked into Haense and retrieved them with no objection from the city guards, as well as our family sword. It pains me that this separation is necessary, but until your allegiance has returned to the rightful side, I feel I cannot allow you to contact them. To ‘King’ Marius, the traitor, I considered you a brother. We were brought up together by your father, as knights of the realm. You gave me the moniker ‘The Loyal,’ and I intended to keep the vows to the same empire that defended us when we needed it most. It is because of our background that this betrayal stings so harshly Now, you spit upon their good graces. You side with Owynists, Reivers, and Snow Elves, men who terrorized citizens of your city. Now you side with them to make up for your Marshal’s ineptitude. To my true, and faithful brother, Cassius ‘Twin-Blade’ Kortrevich, I welcome you with open arms to the side of victors. You and I will fight together as blood, and most of all, brothers. I thank you for your loyalty and your faith in me. Bring all of your allies, and mercenaries you have met along the way - all of them shall be welcomed upon Helena to fight for the true emperor of men. To my trusted friend, Wren Istaf, leader of the Tainted Eden company, We’ve fought many battles together, and known each other for a long while. I intend to keep you close to me, as your company is a vital element to our war effort. In the past days, we have fought the Reivers, proving the superiority of your company. You’ve captured many and won many battles. I write to let you know that I trust you fully. And that your men will be rewarded, every single soul that fights under your command will be honoured with the highest of standards around the empire - that does include a large sum of minas, indeed. Signed, Ser Rodrik Kortrevich, “The Bloody” Knight of the Red Dragon Baron of Koravia Hero of Renatus

  20. “The war between the feuding Imperial Houses of Horen and Marna has claimed many lives as of recent... and it shall continue to do so” – said Ser Rodrik after cleaning his blade from Ser Dominic’s blood “Let this be a reminder for those who oppose us. Rest in peace Lord Dominic of House Grimm – you fought well.”
