People screeching about plagiarism are subversives who hate the server but try to guise it as caring for LOTC and/or other creators...

@itdontmattabig bro please learn to forgive Slorbin's sins, there is hope for him still as a valuable mind 🙏
-
@ScubaDo not beg for forgiveness, especially on the behalf of another man. The ability to withhold forgiveness or bestow it is a great power, one which we must not let control us. We do not value forgiveness from a fiend like itdontmatta.

At how many years do you become an LOTC boomer?

all human factions feel the same :(

@IslamadonI'd argue that is taking the least charitable interpretation of how those playergroups are engaging in roleplay. You are upset that Balian =/= Constantinople, but Balian == Venice which is incredibly different from ye ol' regular Medieval European-influenced entity. You are also mistaken about your claim about Aaun.
-
@Ibn KhaldunMy opinion is written from the perspective of an outsider who does not actively engage with these player groups beyond what I see on the streets. It FEELS like there's nothing going for any of these countries, as an outsider, because they all FEEL the same. I'm less "upset" and more bummed that it does not FEEL like they are meeting full potential or taking the steps to carve a unique niche. I've maintained this opinion since last map BTW, when Balian was actively trying to do Constantinople but hardly did anything Byzantine beyond a name or two. I'm also not trashing Balian, I've nothing against the players or the country itself.

Well, that happened.

“Darkspawn” no longer has meaning or punch

Grouping magic along good/evil is valuable and is not the reason “darkspawn” has no oomph. Darkspawn just doesn’t really mean anything and just implies “you’re not from the light.” If the server leaned fully into the light vs dark aesthetic it would be evocative (maybe even getting the people going), but since lots of lore does not reinforce bad guys being BORN FROM THE DARK AND HIDDEN FROM LIGHT, calling someone “darkspawn” loses any punch it could have had. Instead it becomes a simple buzzword with nothing for the mind to latch onto other than “necrodrazifrostieghoulmysticbloodmage”. (I understand that all dark magics have edgy grimdark background lore that explains why the existence of the lore is a massively destabilizing affront to the fabric of reality). It’s simply a bad catchall.
Evildoer (or better yet, villain) and it’s derivatives are more hard-hitting in my mind because you are accusing someone of literally enacting evil (which dark magic pieces lean into far more than causing darkness). Even if it’s cheesy and moustache-twirly it says something concrete.

Viewing the various magics and creatures from the lenses of "light vs dark" feels like the quickest way to make them seem hallow and without nuance.
And let's not act like the "Light" magics' are infact entirely morally good
They each have their own wildly different stories, themes and cultures, They are -Tools- to be used by anyone.
Attempting to fit them in a binary of good/bad is how we get people trying to put the outright and publically sadistic and cannibalistic Witches with no redeeming qualities, in the same group with the dragons that follow a pact to defend humanity and that would also wish to murder said witches on the spot.
They are all weird and they all share the same world and used by vastly different people, if we want an actually accurate name for all of these 'darkspawns' then it would be "Illegal magics", because that's actually what decides what a 'Darkspawn' is

Did Petra kill its own activity with that gate?

If anyone is familiar with Mandarin to a fluent degree (or at least acceptable), I would be grateful if they could lend me aid with Hou-Zi modernization!

Du Loc didn't try for activity and kept it with 0 effort, why you all noobing?

@IslamadonWrong, actually. The average server count is about 100 - hence, you just need 1 person in your town on average. Or: 2 for 12 hours a day, 4 for 6 hours a day, 8 for 3 hours a day.
If you don't have like a few guys rping in your place for a few hours a day you don't need a city.

Is there a reasonable way for Techs to develop a way to destroy invisible Armor Stands

It'd be cool to see some more Human LT

If you've actual Shaman inconsistencies you wish to point out, make a compiled feedback thread and not a LORE SUBMISSION.

The word "Darkspawn" is getting old . . .

Why do people want every conflict to be a world war?
-
Without wanting to sound like a jaded boomer it's genuinely because most players today don't remember a time prior to Pax Orenia when it took half of the entire server to beat the other half.
It's been the norm for about 5 years now that if there's a war you 'need' to rally 3 other nations to back you up, because the other guy is going to do the same thing. Staff have tried to clamp down on this with stricter rules on the roles of allies and mercenaries but ultimately that just leads to alting and throwaway goon personas meeting the bare minimum to attend warclaims.
I remember being a noob in the pre Duke's War days and just stumbling on 30v30 or sometimes even 10v10 fights between random Oren vassals or Iron Uzg clans duking it out over a patch of land, and it made the world feel much more lively. Nowadays though any fight short of 100v100 is just treated as a raid by staff, adding to a player perception that small warclaims 'aren't worth it', especially when they give your enemy time to carry out the aforementioned international rallying cries. -

Duke's war became world war with foreign ally's helping Savoy(Oren), ultimately changed the outcome of the war in my opinion.

If anyone is interested in designing a battle-nun skin, I am in the market for purchasing. I don't need it shaded.

Can the ST provide a changelog for the Reagents/Herbs they modified? Some seem to be the same and others have changed. Are we allowed to use reagents if they have the old symbols?
